Mexico City: Spring 2025

Day 1:
We arrived at 4AM via our red eye flight, and luckily a few hours before, our AirBnB host confirmed that we’d. be able to check in early. We got to the BnB, got some sleep, and then at around 11AM we got ready to start our days.
While looking for a bakery I had saved on Google Maps that just didn’t seem to exist in real life, a local found us and took us to her favorite bakery instead! It was a nice warm welcome to our travels, she worked as a yoga teacher and used to be a dancer living in NYC. We got our light breakfast and then headed to spa name, for a private sauna, foot reflexology and oxygen mask, full body exfoliation, and massage.
After the spa, we wandered over to put our names down for two highly rated and restaurants for dinner later, and did some wandering around Roma Norte. We checked our Roma Records to buy a record for my younger sister, browsed xyz store, and got a pastry from Rosetta Panderia. Then, we headed back to Choza for our spot for dinner - which is a Thai/Mexican fusion restaurant, where first you’re taken to a listening room upstairs, and then to the rooftop restaurant.
Day 2:
We started this day at my favorite cafe in Mexico City - Cafe Nin - and had the Rol De Guayaba (Guava Roll) here, along with a light breakfast. They have an amazing Macademia juice as well, and cardommom rolls. Then, we slowly wandered over to the Parque Castle Thing - to see some nice views of Mexico City and learn a bit about the history. Got some street tacos on our way to the Anthropology Museum. We learned a bit about the evolution of humans and the early settlers, and unfortunately missed the English tours we were recommended.
After resting a bit at the BnB, we got a last minute reservation at a Speakeasy called Hanky Panky, which was incredible - each drink was so delicious and the ambience was so small and quiet. Then we walked over to Lucha Libre to watch a wrestling match, which was more like a theater show. Then, we had dinner at Tacos Hornico - where we had our best tacos of the trip.
Day 3:
We started the morning at Cafe Nin again, where we spent about an hour where Rohan taught me what I’d need to do to build this website (!). Then, we had a morning of shopping and wandering - at where rohan got two things , Xinu Perfumes, Cardon, and later Oysho and Berskha.
We then went to Cafe which had an industrial feel and was located in the back of a clothing brand, and spent some time starting the Storm Light Archive series together.
For dinner, we went to an amazing seafood restaurant near our apartment for grilled prawns, baja tacos, and Micheladas - beer mixed with savory flavorings.
